1. Eligibility Requirements

To register as a driver on Gerad, you must:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a valid Ethiopian driving license (Category C or higher).
• Own or operate a truck with a valid Ethiopian vehicle registration.
• Pass the Gerad document verification process, including government ID check.
• Not be subject to any criminal charges related to transport or fraud.

2. Driver Status

Drivers on Gerad are independent contractors, not employees of Gerad Logistics. You set your own availability and choose which loads to accept.

3. Conduct Standards

• Deliver cargo in the same condition it was loaded, without damage.
• Do not subcontract a shipment to another driver without platform approval.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with shippers.
• Do not demand payments or side payments outside the platform.
• Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
• Report accidents, breakdowns, or cargo issues to Gerad support immediately.

4. Payment Terms

Driver payment is released within 24 hours of confirmed delivery. Gerad deducts a platform commission (currently 10%) before releasing the remaining amount.

5. Rating System

Shippers may rate drivers after each completed delivery (1–5 stars). Drivers with a rating below 3.0 for 10 or more completed trips may have their accounts reviewed or suspended.

6. Insurance

Drivers are responsible for maintaining all legally required vehicle insurance. Gerad does not provide cargo insurance. Drivers are strongly encouraged to obtain cargo insurance.

7. Account Suspension

Gerad reserves the right to suspend or permanently deactivate driver accounts for: fraudulent activity, sustained low ratings, repeated cancellations, harassment of shippers, or violation of Ethiopian law.

8. Governing Law

This Driver Agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Disputes shall be resolved before the courts of Addis Ababa.
