1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or using the Gerad Logistics platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Platform Role

Gerad Logistics is a technology platform that facilitates connections between shippers and truck drivers. Gerad is not a freight carrier. The freight contract is directly between the shipper and the driver.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• One account per person or business entity.
• Accounts that violate these Terms may be suspended or permanently removed.

4. Shipper Obligations

• Post only accurate information about the cargo, weight, and pickup/delivery locations.
• Do not post illegal cargo (weapons, narcotics, contraband).
• Make payment within 24 hours of confirmed delivery.
• Be present or designate a representative at pickup and delivery locations.

5. Driver Obligations

• Maintain a valid driving license, truck registration, and all required documents.
• Do not accept loads exceeding your truck's registered capacity.
• Follow Ethiopian road safety laws at all times.
• Update trip status in real time using the platform.
• Do not carry cargo not listed in the accepted shipment.

6. Payments & Fees

Gerad charges a platform commission of up to 10% on each completed shipment. The commission is deducted before driver payout. Payment methods include Telebirr, CBE Birr, bank transfer, and cash on delivery. All prices are in Ethiopian Birr (ETB).

7. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes between shippers and drivers should first be reported to Gerad support at support@gerad.et. Gerad will attempt mediation within 5 business days. If mediation fails, disputes shall be resolved by the courts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, under Ethiopian law.

8. Limitation of Liability

Gerad Logistics is not liable for cargo damage, loss, theft, or delays caused by drivers or third parties. Our maximum liability in any dispute is limited to the platform commission collected for the relevant shipment.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate their account at any time. Gerad reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or pose a safety risk to other users.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
