Gerad processes all payments digitally through licensed providers. No cash is accepted or handled on our platform.
All payments must be made digitally before cargo pickup. We accept the following methods for shippers:
Ethiopia's leading payment gateway, supporting Telebirr, CBE Birr, Amole, debit/credit cards, and more.
Ethiopian digital payment gateway supporting a wide range of local mobile money and bank channels.
Direct transfer to Gerad's verified platform bank account from any Ethiopian commercial bank.
For the safety of all parties, Gerad does not accept or facilitate any cash payments. All transactions must be completed digitally through the platform before a driver departs for pickup. Attempts to arrange off-platform cash payments may result in account suspension.
Gerad uses a secure escrow model: the shipper pays first, and the driver gets paid after confirmed delivery.
The shipper creates a shipment listing with pickup location, destination, cargo type, and offered price.
When a driver accepts the load, the shipper is prompted to complete payment. Funds are captured and held securely in escrow on our payment platform, and the driver cannot receive money until delivery.
The driver marks the shipment as delivered and the shipper confirms receipt. Both parties can upload delivery photos as proof.
After confirmed delivery, Gerad releases the driver payout (shipment price minus platform commission) to their registered payout account within 24 hours.
Gerad charges a transparent platform commission on each completed shipment. The exact rate is shown on the load detail screen before a driver accepts.
The total shipment price agreed upon at the time of posting. No hidden fees.
Shipment price minus the Gerad platform commission, clearly shown before acceptance.
Fleet payouts are distributed automatically after delivery. Owners can set internal splits for their drivers.
Your money is protected at every step of the transaction.
Shipper payment is held securely in escrow until the delivery is confirmed by both parties. Neither party can access funds inappropriately.
All payment processing is handled by licensed payment gateways (Chapa and Addis Pay) and their regulated financial partners.
Suspicious transactions are automatically flagged and reviewed. Both shipper and driver accounts are verified before any payment is processed.
Driver payouts are released within 24 hours of confirmed delivery. Processing times may vary based on your bank or mobile money provider.
We take disputes seriously. Here's how we handle payment disagreements between shippers and drivers.
Either party can open a dispute within 48 hours of the delivery event from within the platform. Include any photos, documents, or notes as evidence.
Our support team reviews GPS trip data, delivery photos, platform communications, and status logs. We may contact both parties for additional information.
A decision is issued within 5 business days. Depending on the outcome, funds in escrow may be released to the driver, partially refunded to the shipper, or held pending further review. Decisions may be appealed within 7 days.
Refunds for valid disputes are processed back to the original payment method. Processing time may take 3–7 business days depending on the provider. For detailed dispute policies, see our Terms of Service.
Payment is captured immediately when you confirm a driver has been matched and accepted your load. Funds are held in escrow until delivery is confirmed.
If a driver cancels before pickup, your held payment will be fully refunded within 3–5 business days. You will also be re-matched with another available driver.
Set up your payout bank account or mobile money account in your driver profile settings. After delivery confirmation, payouts are sent automatically within 24 hours.
No, payment must be made in full before a driver departs for pickup. Partial payments are not supported.
The only deduction from the driver payout is the Gerad platform commission, which is shown transparently before acceptance. Shippers pay the agreed price in full with no additional platform fees.
All payments are transparent, digital, and secured.
